SUMMARY:GSA Ireland Helper & Tracklayer Training and Licensing Event
DESCRIPTION:The GSA Ireland Helper and Tracklayer Training and Licensing Event will be held on November 2nd/3rd\, kindly facilitated once again by OG Waterside and its’ members – we take the opportunity to thank the club yet again for their assistance. \nThis year will again see the licensing judge Toine Jonkers (SV/VDH/Netherlands) joined by a panel made up of experienced GSA Ireland members. \n– ALL HELPERS wishing to retain their B Licence (club level) or upgrade to an A Licence (national level) are asked to attend both the training and licensing parts ON SATURDAY. A timetable will be forwarded in due course – attendance is compulsory in order to keep your licence or upgrade.\n– Helpers must bring their own clean scratch pants and jacket\, regulation sleeve and stick. Each helper wishing to licence or re-licence should be accompanied by at least one club dog capable of performing IGP protection routines – this may not necessarily be the dog that they work. Helpers must also be capable of working young dogs in training and we thank in advance\, those handlers who assist the event by allowing their dogs to be used – this event could not take place without your assistance. \n– TRACKLAYERS may retain their current places on the list as long as they have stayed active in the sport either by taking part in\, or officiating at trials\, although those wishing to newly licence as B Grade (club level) or those on the B Licence list who wish to upgrade to an A Grade\, must attend. Tracklayers must bring their own suitable footwear\, pole\, articles and writing materials ON SUNDAY. \n– HOWEVER we recommend that all helpers\, tracklayers and OG Working Wardens attend\, to appraise themselves of current rules and hear the advice of a serving IGP judge. \n– All potential tracklaying and helper licensees should be fully aware of the rules and regulations regarding their respective disciplines. \nAll attendees\, both helpers and tracklayers\, MUST be fully paid-up GSA members\, endorsed/recommended by their OG Working Warden. \nAs before\, training is envisaged to take place in the morning from around 10am\, with licensing in the afternoon\, on each day\, with a full timetable to follow. \nToine has agreed to facilitate informal dog training at OG Waterside on Friday November 1st for GSA members only\, please contact ogwaterside@gmail.com if you wish to attend.

Sick\, not adequately strong dogs\, females in heat\, pregnant or nursing females are not allowed to participate.\nThe scorebook must be presented. The judge and the trial secretary of the hosting club must verify that each dog is in good condition.\nDogs that look tired or make a listless impression must be excluded from participating. The handlers must conduct themselves in a sporting manner throughout the event.\nThe dog must be kept on leash and move in a normal trot next to the bicycle. Overly fast running is to be avoided.\nThe leash must be adequately long to give the dog the ability to adjust to any changes in speed. During this break\, the dogs must be given the opportunity to move about freely and relaxed but should be kept on leash. Again\, the judge will examine the dogs for signs of fatigue and sore paws.\nAfter concluding the running exercise\, at the judge’s instructions\, the handler\, with the dog at heel\, has to take up position. After being called\, every participant\, with their dog\, must show obedience exercises appropriate to the training level of the dog. The exercises can be shown on a loose lead.

SUMMARY:IGP Seminar/Helper and Tracklayer Training & Licensing Event
DESCRIPTION:The GSA Ireland Helper and Tracklayer Training and Licensing Event and a seminar on the new IPG rules for 2019 will take place from Friday November 2nd to Sunday November 4th 2018 at OG Waterside\, kindly facilitated once again by the club and its’ members. \nLicensing judge will be Toine Jonkers (SV/VDH/Netherlands). \n \n– A SEMINAR on the new IGP rules for 2019 will be conducted on Friday November 2nd from 10am at the Airport View Hotel\, Lusk.\nThis will be an excellent opportunity to hear first-hand about the new rules from a top world-level judge before they are implemented in January. \n– ALL HELPERS wishing to retain their B Licence (club level) or upgrade to an A Licence (national level) are asked to attend both the training and licensing parts\, a timetable will be forwarded in due course – attendance is compulsory in order to keep your licence or upgrade. \n– Helpers must bring their own clean scratch pants and jacket\, regulation sleeve and stick. Each helper wishing to licence or re-licence should be accompanied by at least one club dog capable of performing IPO protection routines – this may not necessarily be the dog that they work. Helpers must also be capable of working young dogs in training and we thank in advance\, those handlers who assist the event by allowing their dogs to be used.\n\n– Helper training and licensing takes place from 10.30am on Saturday November 3rd at OG Waterside. \n– TRACKLAYERS may retain their current places on the list\, although those wishing to newly licence as B Grade (club level) or those on the B Licence list who wish to upgrade to an A Grade\, must attend training. Tracklayers must bring their own suitable footwear\, pole\, articles and writing materials and have successfully qualified a dog in at least IPOI/FprI. \n– HOWEVER with potential new rule changes for 2019\, we recommend that all helpers\, tracklayers and OG Working Wardens attend\, to appraise themselves of these changes and hear the advice of a serving IPO judge. \n– All potential tracklaying and helper licensees should be fully aware of the rules and regulations regarding their respective disciplines.\n\n– Tracklayer training and licensing takes place from 10.00am on Sunday November 4th at OG Waterside.\n\nALL attendees for training and licensing – helpers\, tracklayers and spectators – MUST be fully paid- up GSA members\, endorsed/recommended by their OG Working Warden and a final list should be forwarded to info@gsaireland.com by Sunday October 7th\, via their official OG club email address only.
