What we do

HomeWhat we do

GSA members can attain in Ireland, BH (the basic obedience, traffic safe dog test) AD (Endurance) and IPO/Schutzhund qualifications, and breed surveys recognised throughout the world.

GSA members are entitled to avail of the opportunity to have their dogs DNA registered, micro-chipped, and X-Rayed under the German SV hip and elbow scheme – adopted as GSA Ireland’s grading scheme in 2009 – and spine x-rays are also now newly available.

We also host breed shows run along WUSV guidelines, in which SV judges can award the highest gradings to those dogs fulfilling the international criteria, gradings which are recognised globally.

GSA Ireland has also been appointed by the The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) as keeper and administrator of the ‘Breed Book‘, or registry for the German Shepherd Dog in Ireland.
