Court victory for international German Shepherd Dog Clubs

The Düsseldorf Court of Appeals has confirmed in its final judgment of September 7 2020 that the VDH (German Kennel Club) is in breach of competition law by forbidding non-FCI affiliate clubs from accessing SV judges.
As a result, the VDH must not order the SV (Parent body and founding registry of the German Shepherd Dog) to exclude non-FCI affiliated WUSV members from obtaining SV judges for national and international events. Such an order restricts competition and is void.
The legal foundations of the ruling will open the way for the recognition of WUSV club studbooks without restrictions.
